Hi, I’m Benjamin Chapman.
I’m a lifelong resident of Mahomet, Illinois, and I’m running for Champaign County Board because I believe we need to challenge the status quo. The old model of county politics is, well, old. We need an update. We need a forward-looking approach to criminal justice. We need enthusiastic investment in our educational facilities. And we need to provide wide access to mental health care.
I’ve had the pleasure of taking many roles in our community as an organizer and political activist. I previously co-chaired the Students for Environmental Concerns at UIUC, and I currently serve as the President of Illinoisans for Ranked Choice Voting.
To me, politics is a tool for helping people, and I look forward to the privilege of serving you as your elected County Board representative.
